Mindfulness
Mindfulness can benefit you mentally as well as physically in many ways. Mindfulness means being aware and present in the moment. Being mindful can help you to understand your own feelings and what you may need. Practicing mindfulness can help you become more aware of your attitude towards life and have appreciation of what you have and where you are in life. You can practice mindfulness in any given moment in time. This is about becoming aware of your thoughts, words and actions. Self awareness is everything. If you want to enhance Self-awareness, be curious about who you are? Get to know yourself and be your own best friend. Mindfulness helps us to recognise our automatic reactions and helps us to understand that we are all humans and we can turn everything into kindness and acceptance.
Meditation
Meditation can help reduce stress, anxiety, lower blood pressure and improve sleep. When practicing meditation it can give you a sense of calmness, balance and peace. Meditation is a great tool when you want to have a deeper connection with yourself. It is a powerful practice because it will help you to be aware of your thoughts, feelings and habits. Meditation calms down the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) and activates the parasympathetic nervous system which is responsible for “rest and digestion”. With so many benefits, I think we all should be doing meditation.
