The Three Pillars of Holistic Lifestyle
Mind
Your mind is just as important as your body. If you don’t use it, you will lose it! We tend to forget how to use our minds in the positive and meaningful way. Mostly, we run our lives in autopilot mode, thinking that we have no control over what happens to us. Once we become more self-aware, we will understand that we are in control. The only things we can control are: what we think, what we say and what we do. The rest we need to forget and let go. What are the thoughts and emotions going through your head right now? Are you aware of your thoughts and habits? Your answers will shape your reality. What you think will manifest in your life.
Body
The body part of holistic living is the easiest to understand because it is physical. We can see it and touch it. The body is designed to be moved and to be connected to the environment. We are part of nature, and we need to have that wonderful connection. When we have a flexible body, we will move easily forward in this life.
If, according to science, we can change the functioning of our brain through physical activity, then why wouldn’t we be doing this? Do you exercise daily? Walking is the easiest to do and so beneficial for you.
How we nourish our body is important too, as it will affect how we feel, move and sleep. We have a so-called gut and brain connection. If you have a sluggish gut, you will have a sluggish brain. What are your eating habits? Do you have too much sugar in your diet? Make sure you have some quality nutrition. Food is energy and carries information to your cells, so more reason to get this right. Do you like your body? Do you sleep enough? Do you wake up easily? If not, try the 5 second rule: count down from five and make that decision! Use this to overcome any sort of procrastination that you may have in your life. Also, try not to have your mobile phone in your bedroom. Your quality of sleep is very important. Do you have green spaces around you? These are a lot of questions, I know, but it is so important to know yourself.
Soul
The “soul” category can be a little harder to pin down, especially if you are still figuring out who you are and how you fit into this world. But this is alright, as you take more time to understand yourself, inevitably you will discover how special and amazing you are. This is your personal evolution to really discover your true essence. Some simple questions: Are you living an authentic life? Can you love yourself and others unconditionally? Are you happy with where you are?
